Despite all these achievements and small but significant successes of our children we are not succeeding in generating a source of earning or income for other children. Our vocational cell can not meet the requirements of the market. One child takes about 30-40 minutes in making a paper bag. That means a child can make about 10-15 bags. 20 children end up making approximately 200 bags daily. Whereas the demand in market is in tones. 150-200 bags per day don’t even meet a 10% profit margin. Per child income is barely 20-25 rs. daily. We want children to earn more so that it can go towards their savings and help them lead a respectable life. With a paper bag making machine the production will increase that will enable us to meet the market demand and stay in competition. Earning of each child will increase as well and they will get a permanent source of income. This machine is easy to operate and our children can work on it easily.
Vocational Training
We also have a good vocational program. Many local volunteers come in to help teach children vocations like sewing, pen holder making, basket weaving, envelop paper bag making etc. some of the children are quick learners and make beautiful products.
